My name is Tara Dettra and I’m a licensed midwife living in St. Augustine with my husband Greg and our six amazing kiddos (who were all born at home!). After the homebirth of our oldest daughter in 2004, I fell in love with midwifery and wanted to help other women have a similar empowering experience. I attended the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery in Gainesville, Florida and apprenticed primarily under Sharon Schmidt at Fruitful Vine over the course of my education. In 2008 I graduated and opened my homebirth practice in St Augustine, Florida. My birth assistant, Jamie Ropero, has been assisting me since 2019.

We are excited to continue to grow our practice and have recently welcomed Louise Osborn, L.M., C.P.N. to our team. Louise is a licensed midwife living in St Augustine, Fl with her husband Ross and her four kids and small zoo of animals.  She is a graduate of the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery and trained with me in the homebirth setting as well as Elizabeth Meadows, CNM at Flagler Hospital.  She is also a licensed LMHC and found her way to midwifery after many years of working as a therapist specializing in women's care and birth trauma.
